Me Likey
February 5th, 2008 Posted in Invention Nation, The Science ChannelIn the wee hours of the night when Franki was tossing and turning instead of sleeping, she turned on her most frequent bed mate, The Science Channel. Luckily, one of my new favorite shows was on, Invention Nation. On this show, 3 guys drive around in a green bus powered by vegetable oil and visit people round the country doing groovy green things.
At approximately 4:30 AM, they were visiting NYU to talk to a coupla ladies about the Revolution Door:
They said that, in one day, the door could collect enough energy to power a lightbulb for 150 hours. They hope that eventually all lobbies could be lit by the energy harnessed from its revolving door.
Franki likey. I wish I was a smart inventor.

What a cute idea. Let’s build giant human revolving treadmills and fuel the planet whilst fighting obesity!

I am a brilliant inventor: I invented a way to refine indifference to an art form.

“In the wee hours of the night when Franki was tossing and turning instead of sleeping, she turned on her most frequent bed mate,…”
Certainly pulled me into this post with that opening line.
Harnessing and using energy from unsuspecting sources is a cool idea. Sure beats that “carbon credit” debacle.
